Metal screws are used when an awning or canopy frame must be connected to structural metal components up to 1/4" thick such as metal studs, steel plates, beam flanges, and canopy column plate work. As a minimum, the following metal screws and hardware as seen below should be included: #12 x 3/4" self-drilling screws, #14 x 3/4" self-drilling screws, #14 x 1½" self-drilling screws, #14 x 3" self-drilling screws, #14 x 5" self-drilling screws, and 5/16" i/d. x ¾" o/d. x 1/16" flat washers.
