Originally configured to bend Steel Stitch's line of specialty aluminum extrusions, this quality bender features cantilevered wheels, so that complete circles can be formed AND REMOVED from the bender. Other benders have wheels that are mounted between steel posts and not removable. That limits these benders to a half-radius. With the PRB-3000 bender, you can bend complete loops, minimizing effort as well as end-waste.

The Steel Stitch^™ PRB-3000 Power Roller Bender is available with an optional GatorStitch^™ conversion kit, which includes a chamfered center idler wheel and two drive wheel split collars (see schematics below). The kit will allow successful single pass bending of GatorStitch^™ steel tubing down to a 10" radius and will also bend 1" square 18-gauge tubing or lighter.

A successful bend is one that maintains the stapling channel opening between the allowable tolerances of .300 and .260 inches. When the stapling channel opens beyond .300 in. the pvc ZipStrip^® that covers the channel will have a tendency to fall out of the channel over time. When the stapling channel closes to less than .260 in. the pvc ZipStrip^® will be too large for the opening and therefore becomes difficult to insert into the channel. Additionally, when the channel closes to less than .260 it also becomes difficult to insert the stapling tool completely into the channel.

The two outside drive wheels are machined from cast steel and are in fixed positions. The standard center wheel, made from Delrin^® plastic for reduced marring of softer metals, adjusts vertically with a calibrated crank to achieve the desired bend radius. This specialized wheel is designed and machined to bend Steel Stitch's line of 1"x 1" and 1"x 2" aluminum tubing, including the flanged ceiling support series of extrusions!
